Beat Down Ol' Pickup

Lyrics

In the holler where the willows weep
Down the dirt road lined with gravel deep
There stands a rusty, rugged old friend
Seen better days, but ain't reached the end

It's got a dent where that deer did collide
Cracked windshield from some wild ride
Bed's full of memories, love and loss
No fancy polish, just Southern gloss

She's a beat down 'ol pickup, but she still goes
Purrs like a kitten, though the rust shows
Every scar tells a tale, from years gone by
In that beat down 'ol pickup, we'll ride till we die

Under the hood, a heart of steel
Through every storm, she still reveals
Traveled miles from town to town
Sometimes she's up, sometimes she's down

Left rear light's got a faint red glow
Lift tailgate slow or your hand she’ll show
Rolling past the fields of corn
Sweet memories, newborns, and those who’ve mourned

She's a beat down 'ol pickup, but she still goes
Purrs like a kitten, though the rust shows
Every scar tells a tale, from years gone by
In that beat down 'ol pickup, we'll ride till we die

Left rear light's got a faint red glow
Lift tailgate slow or your hand she’ll show
Rolling past the fields of corn
Sweet memories, newborns, and those who’ve mourned

She's a beat down 'ol pickup, but she still goes
Purrs like a kitten, though the rust shows
Every scar tells a tale, from years gone by
In that beat down 'ol pickup, we'll ride till we die
